On Monday, May 19, 2025, Dr. Nihad Baban, Head of the Water Resources Engineering Department, along with department staff members Peshawa Bakhtyar and Mr. Hunar, welcomed representatives from Real Distance Company, who generously provided two advanced surveying devices — GPS and Total Station — along with all required accessories.

These advanced instruments play a crucial role in executing engineering projects, particularly in the field of surveying, which is a fundamental aspect of civil and water resources engineering. Equipping students with hands-on experience in using such tools is essential to enhancing their practical knowledge and preparing them for real-world applications.

The Department of Water Resources extends its sincere gratitude to Real Distance Company for supporting the academic development of our students. Special thanks go to the company representatives, Mr. Peshawar and Mrs. Lana, for their kind initiative and participation in this important meeting.

On February 13, 2025, the College of Engineering at the University of Sulaimani hosted students and teachers from Halgurd Secondary School, Darbandikhan as part of an educational visit.

Prof. Dr. Serwan Khorsheed, Dean of the College of Engineering, along with faculty members, warmly welcomed the visiting students and teachers. In a speech delivered at the conference hall, the Dean expressed his pleasure in hosting the students, referring to them as the essence of the future and encouraging them to pursue their academic dreams.

The teachers of Halgurd School expressed their gratitude for the warm reception, emphasizing the educational value of such scientific trips. They highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the school and the university to inspire students toward higher education and innovation.

Following the reception, faculty members guided the students through various engineering laboratories, providing insightful explanations about different engineering disciplines and research activities.

On February 18, 2025, 12th-grade students from Payam Mixed Secondary School, Ranya, visited the University of Sulaimani to explore the College of Engineering.

In his speech, he emphasized the importance of such visits, encouraging students to strive for academic excellence as a path toward a brighter future for themselves and their country.
